in about 150 words, How would you explain the right of privacy to someone from another country? Please be mindful that someone from another country will not be able to understand out legal principles or terminology :-).

This discussion question is going to be a little different. I am going to pretend, for purposes of this question only, that I am from a foreign country and do not know anything about the American right of privacy. Ready? Here goes:

Hello, I am new to this country. This is my first visit here (I’m an exchange student staying in New York) and am eager to learn more about your culture. I was reading in the New York Times about a man who went to jail but claimed his right of privacy was violated. Can you please give me some information about this right of privacy?
